I've been using this facial serum, can I use this for the life of my tan?

For a more subtle glow, book your appointment for 2-3 days before your event. Book 1 day before a vacation.  If you have questions, call us! We are always happy to help you. Know that spray tans take a full 24 hours to develop!

When should I book my spray tan?

The OG and the LUXE solutions must be worn for 8-12 hours before rinsing. The Quickie (rapid) solution must be worn for 2-6 hours. 2 hours for a light tan, 3-4 hours for a medium tan, 5-6 hours for a deep tan. All solutions take 24 hours to fully develop.

How long should I wait to shower? 

About 7-10 days depending on your after-care. Using a tan extender that contains a small amount of DHA such as Sjolie’s Tan Extend and a body wash designed to prolong the life of your tan like the Sjolie Body Wash, will extend the length of your tan, while also keeping it even and rich. 

HOW LONG WILL THE TAN LAST? 

Yes, please! When you exfoliate, you increase the blood circulation and the lymphatic system which in return encourages new skin cells, breaks down fatty tissues, and drains toxins from the skin. Having fresh, exfoliated skin expands the life of your tan and fades evenly. The best way to exfoliate prior to your appointment using an exfoliating mitt. Personally, I don't think loofahs do the trick.

Do I really need to exfoliate before my tan? 

Moisturize regularly and stay hydrated in the days leading up to and following your spray tan. Avoid long, hot baths, hot tubs, and chlorinated pools. During the lift of your spray tan, avoid using serums that are 'anti-acne' or contain mineral oil, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, AHAs, BHAs, lactic acids, or retinol. These will strip your tan easily.

How else do I maintain my tan? 

Each appointment is booked for 20 minutes to ensure time to go over aftercare. It is important that each client knows how to take care of their tan. Please plan accordingly!

Yes! Spray tanning is the healthiest way to get the color and glow you are looking for. If you haven’t spray tanned with us before, we suggest that you do a test tan at least three weeks prior to your event. This way, we are able to make adjustments if the color is too light or too dark. Schedule your tan 2-3 days before your big day. Check out our Bridal packages under Here Glows the Bride. 

Should I get a spray tan for a wedding or another big event? 

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is made from raw sugar cane and FDA approved for cosmetic use. When DHA is combined with the amino acids in your skin, it reacts by giving your skin a tan appearance. Allergic reactions are rare, but consult with your physician before your appointment should you have any concerns. We ask that all clients fill out the form on Vagaro prior to your appointment. 

What is the solution? How does it work? 

can a woman get a spray tan if they are pregnant or breastfeeding?

We always recommend consulting with your doctor prior to sunless tanning. Spray tans will boost your confidence and prep you for your shower and birth. For our breastfeeding moms, our spa supplies nipple covers. As always, consult with your doctor prior to your appointment. I recommend doing the QUICKIE so you can shower sooner. To cover your mucous membrances, we also provide nose plugs to avoid inhaling the product. 

can i apply deodorant the day of my appointment? 

When the deodorant and DHA from the spray tan react, it can turn your armpit green. Please avoid deodorant the day of your appointment or wipe off completely before.

I am off to the beach. What SPF should I use?

In my experience, lotion based SPFs are spray tan friendly. Aerosol sunscreens can dry out your sunless tan and cause it to fade unevenly. Try to use one that is oil-free and non-comedogenic. After the beach, be sure to use lots and lots of lotion to hydrate your skin. Drinks lots of water too!

Your appointments are very important to us, we do understand that sometimes schedule adjustments are necessary; therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for adjustments to your appointment and cancellations.

Same day cancellations will result in a 50% charge of the scheduled service amount.

Failure to show up to your appointment will result in a 100% charge of the scheduled service amount.

All clients will be required to keep a credit card on file. All cards on file are added to our booking system via a secure electronic process that ensures information is encrypted and remains secure.

Each client is given a 10 minute grace period. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, your appointment will be canceled & rescheduled. Arriving later than 10 minutes will result in a no show and you will be charged 100% of the service(s) booked.
